Brief History
My name is Rebekah Renford and this is my website. I was born in Naniamo, British Columbia. I am 19 and I've lived in Chilliwack for the past 10 years of my life until I just recently moved to Coquitlam while I'm going to BCIT, enrolled in a program called New Media Design and Web Development. While going to school I work at McDonald's and have worked there for the past two years. It's an amazing experience but it's definitely nice to confide in the fact that I'm going to school so I won't have to work there anymore. I love working with computers, despite how much they sometimes frustrate me, I find peace and serenity when I can sit down at my computer, put on some good tunes and just work.
Hobbies
I am in love with music. I took band for 6 years in school and it was always my passion, the class that made school worth going to. I played many instruments including clarinet, bass clarinet (my definite forte), alto sax, tenor sax, and baritone sax. I think music brings out so many things in people and in situations. It helps you see the reality, the magic, and the tension, or whatever the feelings may be. Music helps to express that which cannot be said with words. I've lost count of how many times I've found proof of this in my own life filled with drama.
I'm a very social person. I love to be around people and talk to them. I love my alone time as well, but I thrive on spending time with people, making them laugh, and learning new things from them. I love meeting new people. I believe that there are very few uninteresting people in this world. You'll meet a lot of people in your lifetime but I've found that 99% of the people I've ever met all have something special about them that makes them amazing in their own unique way. And they are all special to me. Since I moved to Coquitlam almost three months ago I cannot count how many people I have met and how many of them inspire and amaze me on a daily basis. Old friends like Nicole, Carley, Lindsay and Morgan who make my life worth living and are the people that keep me going each and every day. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. And then there's people like my amazing head manager at McDonalds, Taurean. And then there's my new good friend whom I carpool with everyday, Justin, and he keeps me laughing everyday.
My parents are a huge influence to me. Despite the fact that we may have gone through rough patches in the past couple of years we're still family and I still love them to death. My mother has been there for me for anything and we were all each other had when her and my dad separated. Despite the fact that she's overly-paranoid for my safety I still love her to death and i'm proud to call her my mom. My step-dad, Darren, is as equally a large influence on my life. He is more of a father to me than my real father ever was and for that everyday I thank him. He's good for advice when I need it, he keeps a level head and he makes you feel special right when you least expect it. Without the advice and influence of my parents I wouldn't be where I am today. My very little sisters, Alexis (3) and Mackenzie (21 months), constantly keep me entertained and they are the smartest kids I've ever met. They'll be the ones buying my mom and Darren their beach house, not me.
A few great quotes to remember
About Friends...
A stranger stabs you in the front; a friend stabs you in the back; a boyfriend stabs you in the heart, but best friends only poke each other with straws.
~Unknown
About Life...
We should consider every day lost in which we have not danced at least once.
~Friedrich Nietzsche
About Love...
Love is when you find someone who is your best friend and you can be yourself around them. Its when words can't come close to how you feel. Its when you know you are supposed to be together. And if you have to wait forever . . . You will.
